youth Bible camp | news

Youth campWhen I wrote my last wink, I had also asked for prayer for our youth Bible camp that we were heading to that weekend.  Thank you for praying for that time!  It was amazing.

God kept all 15 of us safe as we did lots of stuff.  We hiked to this little waterfall, played volleyball, went on a night hike to do fireworks down on the rocky riverbed, went to the beach, had 3 worship services, and had a 3-vehicle ccaravan for about 7 hours total.

One of the girls who attended the camp (far right, in the red shirt) will be getting baptized, along with her father, on November 20th!  Another girl who came because she was invited by her friend, who is part of our youth group, raised her hand during the response time, to answer the question of if you wanted to live your life for Jesus, instead of for yourself.  I couldn’t believe it when I saw her hand go up, in addition to the 3 other hands of youth who come to church, wanting to recommit their lives to follow Christ rather than themselves.  (oh, me of little faith).  That was just amazing.

In addition, I will never forget looking out over the campground to see the youth doing their devotions during our 30 minute morning quiet time.  For that time, we had no cell phones, no talking, and no being inside (so, be outside in God’s creation).  I was so thankful to God, seeing the youth with their Bibles open, going through the little Bible study paper we had for first-time quiet timers, and praying.  God is working in the hearts of the youth at my church and I am so privileged to see that up close.
