Nursery School outreach | news There are currently 34 children (this number includes 7 part-timers) enrolled in the Narita Church nursery school. For this year’s Sunday School camp, the 5-year-olds from the nursery school were invited to join in and spend the night at the church with the big kids. They loved it! We had a BBQ, a bonfire, did sparklers, went on a night hike around the rice fields with little electric lanterns, the teachers and parents washed the feet of the kids for one of the evening services, made wordless book bracelets, and had 5 services.
It was a fun-filled time with 19 kids and lots of people working hard to make things happen. The best part for me was worshipping with the kids. Every time we would sing the song ‘The Nails in Your Hands,’ which we had translated into Japanese, one little boy from the nursery school would start to tear up, and have to wipe his eyes with his t-shirt. His tender little heart towards Jesus’ suffering is something I will never forget, and it made me cry too! Another praise is that the energy has continued into our weekly Sunday School worship time as well. The kids used to be shy about singing, but the Sunday after our camp, they were singing loudly, doing the actions, and it was like a different Sunday School! Please pray for Natasha, our new English teacher, and her visa. There have been a lot of complications, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Please pray that she could come in August!
