Easter Sunday was a day of celebration at Yachiyo Church as 91-year old
Tomiko was baptized. Since the church’s camp 2 years ago, we have asked
you to pray for her often.
Her daughter and son-in-law brought her to camp for a day. She and her daughter came to the children’s ministry room and saw our Wordless Book Bracelet craft. Her daughter, deeply concerned that her mother who had followed Buddhism all her life would want to know about Jesus, asked if Jane would explain the meaning.
Later, Tomiko told her daughter she had gone to Sunday School as a child and now wanted to learn more. She wanted to attend church. Her daughter and son-in-law began reading the Bible with her every morning and helping her gradually build up strength so she could climb the 3 flights of steps to Yachiyo Church. She never gave up.
After receiving eternal life, she said, “I feel such peace.” She also said, “When I see the faces of the church family, I see God!”
Praise God for this new sister in Christ. Her daughter, a faithful saint, became a part of Yachiyo Church in our 4th term and Harry led her husband to Christ last term. Please pray with them for their 2 adult children and families to also believe.
