Tokyo May 14, 2006 With the start of a new school year in April, I (Dale Lemke) have started helping with an English club at a local university. The leader of the club is a Christian and wants to reach her friends for Christ. On Good Friday, I had an interesting experience leading a discussion about spring-time events and activities.
When I asked a question to find out what the students new about Easter, the only reply was "something about coloring eggs, right?" When I asked if anyone had seen the movie, The Passion of the Christ, no one in the group had seen it or new what it was about. When I asked if anyone knew what the cross that everyone wears as a piece of jewelry meant, no one had any idea. I was again reminded of the lostness of these Japanese youth. How is it that they do not know about the most important event in all of human history? How can so many wear a symbol that witnesses to that event and have no idea of its significance? Please pray that we will be able to boldly and effectively share about all that God has done for us and the Japanese people.
