Short-term team reaches youth

posted October 24, 2007

Dale Lemke recently coordinated the ministries for a team of 18 people from Leeward Community Church in Pearl City, Hawaii. From July 19-30, the Leeward youth and sponsors held a series of Luau-style youth events at the C&MA works in Harumi, Kawaguchi and Sengendai. As a result of their ministry, a number of contacts were made that might otherwise not have been possible. read more>>>

Boy leads family

Kazuki, a 4th grader, attends the Chiba Church Kids’ English Class. He rode the train by himself an hour to attend the Kids’ Christmas Outreach together with 60 people.  Then, he brought his grandma, mom and little sister to the Christmas Eve service.  “I love coming to church.  It’s fun!” was his comment last Saturday.  Please pray for this family to believe in Jesus.

Mom's Time

posted February 8, 2007

The “Mom’s Time” group is a target ministry specifically to young unsaved mothers. Each meeting is carefully planned and addresses challenges they are facing as young wives and moms. It is casual with a discussion time. Lessons include Scripture, but it is not specifically a verse-by-verse study. This group of 10 moms has grown largely through friends bringing friends.  read how mom's time reached a "mega turning point" >>>

The only one

posted February 8, 2007

Each Tuesday,18-year-old Kentaro rides his bike 30 minutes to our house for a Disciple-ship Class with Harry.  Harry baptized him last October.  Kentaro lives and breathes Jesus. He said last week, “I think I’m the only baptized believer in my high school.

Kentaro has high goals for his life, and will go to the States for college this fall.  Please pray for God’s leading and protection on him and courage to continue his walk with God.  He’s a special young man.

Christian Contact made at University

posted February 8, 2007

Before leaving on our trip to the States, we had the opportunity to meet with a Christian girl from Saitama Prefectural University. Yuri told us that, to her knowledge, she is the only Christian on a campus of 1500 students. She has a desire to be a witness there, so we talked about the possibility of starting an evangelistic Bible Study on campus or in our home. She was really excited.

Please pray that we will be able to launch a small group in April when the new school year starts and that we and Yuri will be able to connect with spiritually interested people. Let’s pray for a great harvest!
